Inspired Conversations, Passionate Teaching

Inspired conversations, not too many assignments, passionate teaching. I really appreciated getting to know more about the interaction between attachment, substance abuse, and trauma. Gabor Mate’s book was eye-opening. I really appreciate all the references to further resources (books, articles, websites).

I’ve Learned So Much In This Course

I’ve learned so much in this course and am appreciative that it is included in the substance abuse certificate program. Exploring the connection between addictions and trauma and learning about how substances affect the brain has improved my overall knowledge and understanding of addiction. I appreciate the approach that Shannon took in teaching the course…

Best Grad School Class I Have Ever Taken

Shannon is the reason this course is so amazing and interesting. Her specific experiences are directly related to issues that clinical social workers will face. The way she presents material, engages us all in class discussions, etc is why this is the best grad school class I have ever taken.
